In some cases, when your shades aren't working right, it can be easier to start from scratch in terms of pairing your shades and remotes. This is called a network reset. To reset the network and start over, follow the steps below.
NOTE: If your shades and remotes are a part of home automation system, consult with the home automation provider for the proper steps to exclude the shades and remotes from their network.
Using Standard (2-button) or Plus (Single Channel Remote)

STEP 1 OF 2: Reset the Network
- Make sure all of your shades and remotes have power. If any shades or remotes aren't powered, resolve the power issue using these instructions.
- Exclude all remotes from your shade network.
- On the remote, press and hold the program button on the back for 15 seconds. When the LED stops flashing, release the button.
The remote LED should flash green, amber, and red before turning off. - Repeat for each remote.
- On the remote, press and hold the program button on the back for 15 seconds. When the LED stops flashing, release the button.
- Exclude all shades from your shade network.
- Move the shade to its upper limit. If remote does not operate shade, you can press the manual button on the motor.
- On the shade, press and hold the program button for 7 seconds. When the shade jogs once, then release the button.
All remotes are now unpaired from the shade. However, the shade's upper, lower, and home positions are still set. - Repeat for each shade.
STEP 2 OF 2: Create a New Network
Once you've successfully reset your network, you're ready to create a new one. To create a new network, follow instructions below.
If not connecting to a Home Automation System, skip to step 5
- If applicable, include/enroll your shades in the home automation app. (Ignore this step if you don't use a home automation system.)
- From your home automation system’s user interface, select the option to enroll a new Z-Wave device.
See your home automation system’s instructions for details. - On one of your shades, press and hold the program button for 3 seconds. When the shade LED flashes green, release the button.
The shade should appear as a found Z-Wave device in your home automation system’s user interface. - Repeat the steps above for each shade.
- From your home automation system’s user interface, select the option to enroll a new Z-Wave device.
- If applicable, include/enroll your remotes in the home automation app. (Ignore this step if you don't use a home automation system.)
- From your home automation system’s user interface, select the option to enroll a new Z-Wave device.
See your home automation system’s instructions for details. - On one of your remotes, press and hold the program button on the back for 3 seconds. When the remote LED flashes green, release the button.
The remote should appear as a found Z-Wave device in your home automation system’s user interface. - Repeat the steps above for each remote.
- From your home automation system’s user interface, select the option to enroll a new Z-Wave device.
- Set up the automation features within the home automation app to operate multiple shades within a group. (Ignore this step if you don't use a home automation system, or if you don't want to operate multiple shades within a group using the home automation system.)
- Associate/add an individual remote to each shade for individual control when using Home Automation (skip to step 5 if not using home automation) by doing the following:
On the remote control, press and release the program button on the back of the remote. (LED will flash green)
On the shade, press and HOLD the program button for 3 seconds. When the shade LED flashes green, release the button
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each shade you want to control with a remote.
5. Associate/add an individual remote to each shade for individual control when not using Home Automation by doing the following:
On the remote control, Quickly press and release the program button twice. (LED will alternate amber and green)
On the shade, press and HOLD the program button for 3 seconds. When the shade LED flashes green, release the button
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each shade you want to control with a remote.
