Graber: How do I add non-Bluetooth shades to my Gateway?

Non-Bluetooth shades will have a white tipped antenna. 


Before starting this process, follow the quick start guide to set up your Gateway if it has not already been set up.

 

  1. While on the “Shades” screen, tap “+” to begin adding a new device.
  2. Tap “Graber Products”
  3. Tap “Next”
  4. The app will first look for Bluetooth enabled devices; if your shades were manufactured before 2022, they will not be found on this step. The app will display “No devices found”
  5. At the bottom of the “No devices found” screen, tap “Add with a gateway”
  6. Select your shade type from the list provided.
  7. If not already done, hang and power your shade. Tap “Next” when the shade is powered.
  8. A 1-minute timer will start on this screen. While the timer is counting down, press and hold the programming button on the shade for about 3 seconds, until the LED on the shade begins flashing green, and then release. The shade should do a brief down/up jog shortly after releasing, and the app should display that it is adding a device.
    1. Wait until the shade stops flashing green; If the shade does not jog, and it does not add to the gateway, tap “Retry” to begin the unpairing process.
    2. The app will go to a screen that states “The gateway will begin the unpairing process.” While on this screen, press and hold the button on the shade for about 3 seconds until the LED beings flashing green, and then release. The shade should jog in response; once the shade jogs and the shade LED turns off, tap “Try adding again.”
    3. Tap “next” and repeat step 8.
  9. Name your shade and, if desired, assign it to a room.
    1. If adding more shades, tap “Add more devices” and repeat steps 2-9 for each shade.
  10. If you are done adding shades tap “I’m done adding devices” to be taken back to the “Shades” screen. Your shade(s) should now be operable through the app.
  11. Once all shades have been added to the Gateway, follow these instructions to pair a remote if a remote is being added as well.
