Adding a New Standard-Plus Remote

  1. Reset the new Standard/Plus remote so that it can be added to the Premium remote: 

  1. Press and hold the programming button on the back of the remote for 15 seconds. While holding the button on the remote, the LED will flash through the following colors: a flashing green, followed by a flashing amber, followed by a rapid flashing red, and then the LED will turn off completely. Continue holding the button until the LED turns off. Once the LED is off, release the button. The LED will flash once more to indicate battery status of the remote; green is good, amber is low, red should be replaced immediately. 

  1. On the Premium remote, press and hold the menu/right button for about 2 seconds, until the remote screen displays the menu (CHANNEL, SHADE, ZWAVE). 

  1. Tap the down arrow until the menu cursor (arrow on the screen) is on “ZWAVE,” then press and release (less than 1 second) the menu/right button to select it. 

  1. Tap the down arrow to put the cursor on “INCLUDE,” then press and release (less than 1 second) the menu/right button to select it. The remote will read “INCLUDE PRESS DEVICE BUTTON” 

  1. While the remote is on this screen, press and hold the programming button on the Standard/Plus remote for about 3 seconds, until the LED on the remote begins flashing green, and then release the button. The LED should become solid green, and the Premium remote should read “INCLUDE FOUND” if the pairing is successful. 

  1. To associate your Standard/Plus remote to your desired shade(s), quickly tap the programming button on the back of the Standard/Plus remote. The LED will begin alternating green (only one side of the remote will light up at a time, back and forth). 

  1. While the remote is alternating green, hold the button on the shade you want to be controlled for about 3 seconds, until the LED on the shade is flashing green and release. The shade should jog in response after the button on the shade has been released. The shade should now be responsive to the Standard/Plus remote as well as the Premium remote. 

  1. Repeat steps 6 & 7 for each shade that needs to be paired to your Standard/Plus remote.
