Adding Amazon Alexa Voice Control to your Motorization App and Gateway

Use to add voice control to your shades using Alexa.    



Before you get started, follow the steps under “Getting Started” to set up your Gateway and Motorization account on the Motorization app. Add all your shades and remotes to your account; shades must be transferred to a gateway to work with voice assistance.

 

How to Enable the skill on your Alexa App

 

After you've completed your Alexa speaker set up using the instructions supplied in the Amazon installation manual, you are now ready to pair your gateway to the Amazon Alexa.

There are two ways to enable the skill to allow Alexa to control your shades.

Option A

  1. Hamburger Icon (upper left on screen)
  2. Alexa+ Store
  3. Search (magnifying glass upper left on screen) for motorized shade control
  4. Enable, you will then be prompted to login with your motorization app account information
  5. Select the devices that Amazon Alexa will have access to; once done, scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Finish.”

 

Option B

  1. Hamburger Icon (upper left on screen)
  2. Settings
  3. Manage Alexa+ Services
  4. Scroll to bottom of screen and click on Skills and Games
  5. Search “Motorized Shade Control” in search bar
  6. Enable, you will then be prompted to login with your motorization app account information
  7. Select the devices that Amazon Alexa will have access to; once done, scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Finish.”

If it is needed to unlink your account, follow either of the options above and disable the skill.

 

Shades are not responding to verbal commands.

 

  1. Confirm that the gateway is online, and the shades are working in the app.
  2. Confirm that the speaker being used to issue commands are on the same Alexa account that was assigned to the gateway.
  3. Disable the skill and reenable it.
